The Maryport South Pride in Place Community Engagement Fund provides grants of up to £1,000 to support community-led events and activities that bring local people together and help shape the future of the neighbourhood.

About the fund

Overview

The fund aims to encourage residents to connect with one another, celebrate their community and share their ideas, experiences and aspirations for the area.

Feedback gathered through funded activities will help inform the development of the Pride in Place Community Investment Plan.

Events funded through this first round must take place by 30 September 2026, with feedback from residents submitted shortly afterwards to help inform the Pride in Place Community Investment Plan.

Who can apply?

Charitable, not-for-profit organisations working within or benefiting people living in the Maryport South Pride in Place area can apply.

What we fund

What the fund will support

The fund will support activities that:

  • Bring local people together
  • Are open and welcoming to local residents
  • Include an opportunity for people to share their views about the area
  • Help gather ideas that can inform future priorities and investment decisions
  • Take place within the Maryport South Pride in Place area

Activities should include a simple way of gathering local people's ideas, priorities or feedback about their community.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available.

Please note

What the fund will not support

The Fund will not support:

  • Activities that have already taken place
  • Political activities
  • Religious worship
  • Statutory responsibilities
  • Purchase of alcohol
  • Activities with no community engagement element
Reporting

Monitoring

Successful applicants will be required to complete a short end-of-project report and provide evidence of community engagement, photographs, case studies and testimonials.

There is no fixed closing date for applications. However, as activities must be delivered and feedback gathered by the end of September 2026, organisations are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow sufficient time for planning, delivery and community engagement.
